How do I look?
This is one of the better pictures I took of the play that I directed called Picnic, by William Inge. In the scene, two sisters are preparing for a picnic, each having had their imagination captured by a handsome young drifter. The younger girl, on the left, is normally tomboyish and rough around the edges, but has the presence to become the beautiful swan. Uncertain of her femininity, she seeks the approval of her older sister, the “beautiful one” who has always managed well with the boys.
The lighting is the natural stage lights for the show, and I think it is particularly dramatic here.
