This is another one of those shots only made possible by my new Oben tripod. I had the camera only a few inches off the floor and directed at an extreme angle to present a very specific message. I gave it an extremely tight aperture and long shutter speed for maximum DOF and to create a flare, or twinkle, in the lights. In this particular shot I wanted to have a golden glow so I eased back on the cool white balance.
Although generally please with the shot, it does feel a little off balance to me. On reflection I think I should have straightened the cloth on top of the table. It looks like I was taking it an an angle when the camera was actually straight on. Also, I should have repositioned the figures slightly so they were more centered. But all in all, I think it’s an effective image.
