Discovery

Discovery

f/16 30" ISO 100 41mm

I’ve been too busy getting ready for the play I’m directing (opens next weekend) to have a moment to spare for a camera for many days now, and I got impatient. Having a few moments to spare, I decided to see if I could set something up. Hmmm…blown glass ship in a bottle, high gloss black table top, striking background color. Lets see what I can do. Quickly set up the elements but realized that lighting from the ceiling lamp wasn’t going to cut it. So I got a portable florescent trouble light, set it on the table and covered it with a table runner until it both reduced glare and generated some interesting shadows, and HMS Discovery became a rather striking photograph.
